nomad relief appeal
Severe winter weather across much of Mongolia has killed 1.7 million head of livestock and left nomadic families across Mongolia facing terrible challenges such as food shortages, being displaced and having to abondon their nomadic dwellings for other shelter with families, etc. For those that wish to donate towards our initiative to assist family in the Dundgovi Region you may donate to the following Agencies that will ensure that your funds will reach us so we may carry out relief works:

GeoTourism Development for Sustainable Livelihoods
Ger to Ger systematically enables rural communities to responsibly and sustainably tap the tourism industry to generate sustainable livelihoods through capacity development and vocational training (Foundation) and market linkage development (Agency); to which within 3 to 5 years community based tourism will become well rooted. Rural communities, particularly herder groups in league with rural single service suppliers (rural drivers, guides, other human resources and businesses), provide travel services and products to the travel industry. Ger to Ger productively utilizes herders and their existing assets to develop cultural eco travel products that results in increased incomes for rural families and their communities.

Rural Community Information Ticketing Centers (CITC)
Rural GeoTourism development institutions called Community Based Information and Ticketing Centers (CITC) aimed at community asset mapping, training, mobilization and market linkage development must be developed and supported with online information and training resources that are accessible nation-wide by trainer of trainers. By having a constant access to relevant training and multimedia materials it will ensure a balanced and sustainable geographic approach towards developing Mongolia’s rural tourism resources and alternative livelihoods generated from such social & economic catalyst.
The goal is to advance Ger to Ger online resource materials and establish 2 pilot Community Information and Ticketing Centers (CITC) that carryout capacity development and vocational training of rural human resources in winter and provide GeoTourism market linkage services in summer. It is the goal that the future resource material development and sustainability of the pilot CITCs will eventually become sustainable via GeoTourism.
