UNHEALTHY COMPETITIVE PRACTICES
GER TO GER would like to kindly advise travelers to be aware of some unhealthy practices being carried out by some local guesthouses and small travel businesses. It has been reported to us numerous times that certain guesthouses in UB are kicking out travelers if they do not purchase their services and/or do not alter their travel plans and purchase their company's travel services. In other cases, some guesthouses and small travel businesses have been illegally using GER TO GER's brand and name to associate their business and travel products with our Foundation and Agency. Currently GER to GER works with only a few selected international partners and any domestic company and/or guesthouse claiming that they are offering a "GER TO GER" tour, trip and/or experience are in violation of Mongolian Law.

These practices, more importantly, are unethical and irresponsible means for operators and guesthouses to copy successful community practices in order to enter into markets that have been traditionally reserved for travelers seeking a genuine experience with rural communities and nomadic families and greatly influence rural inhabitants' alternative income generation opportunities in order for them to increase their profitability without consideration to existing professional community-based and regional GeoTourism works being carried out in Mongolia

Unfortunately the situation in Mongolia has risen to this level where we have to kindly inform all international travelers and agencies to be aware of this when either researching for travel information online or domestically in Ulaanbaatar.
