Achieving universal primary education by training nomadic families on the importance of education (tourism, language, etc.) and creating new sources of incomes that nomadic families can use to send and/or maintain their children attendance at school.
Promoting gender equality and empowering Mongolian woman by strengthening their positions within the Ger to Ger Program and providing additional works for their spouses to raise the men to the level of the women in Mongolia as many rural women are over-worked in remote areas.
Reducing child mortality by enhancing means of health communication and knowledge sharing by inviting other specialized professionals and NGOs to cooperate with Ger to Ger.
Improving maternal health by increasing families’ ability to purchase required items by increasing families’ annual revenues.
Combating Hepatitis and other sanitation related diseases by knowledge sharing in participatory tourism workshops and trainings that cover rural health and safety for nomadic families and travelers.
Ensuring environmental sustainability by implementing 'green social and economic initiatives' that produce real financial incentives like Ger to Ger eco-community tourism that allows rural nomadic families and their communities to understands and, most importantly, see the benefits of conservation works.
Actively developing global partnerships for development by strengthening domestic and international network linkages between herders, communities, international travelers, companies. etc., via Ger to Ger's Sustainable Tourism Brand as well as conducting training on ‘Responsible Socio-Cultural Eco-Travel’ in Mongolia and by knowledge sharing in conferences and training workshops.
Ger to Ger is a Strong Supporter of Millennium Villages
The Millennium Villages are based on a single powerful idea: impoverished villages can transform themselves and meet the Millennium Development Goals if they are empowered with proven, powerful, practical technologies. By investing in health, food production, education, access to clean water, and essential infrastructure, these community-led interventions will enable impoverished villages to escape extreme poverty, something that currently confines over 1 billion people worldwide. |
