Ger to Ger currently operates in the following Province of Mongolia:

Mandalgovi Town
Mr. Ganbaatar, rural ticketing officer

a. Project Benefits: Ger to Ger gave me chance to start my guesthouse business and increase my income. In addition, I have obtained tourism education and improved my language, knowledge and communication skills.

b. Your Opinion about Ger to Ger: Ger to Ger project is very good example of essential projects to provide real benefits and contribution to the local people’s livelihood.

c. Do We Need Short Wave Radios?: Short wave radio is useful to receive and distribute information over a vast area.

d. Should The Project Continue?: Ger to Ger project needs continue. Because it’s very helpful to increase herders’ income and develop Dundgovi province’s tourism and rural communications infrastructure.

d. Should The Project Continue?: Project must continue in future. It will improve our livelihood sustainably.

a. Project Benefits: My household income has increased; knowledge, education and communication skills with other people etc improved by project implementation.

b. Your Opinion about Ger to Ger: Training was very great. All skill development and application were effective for us.

c. Do We Need Short Wave Radios?: If we have short wave radios, this will give us possibility to communicate with project and others.

d. Should The Project Continue?: Ger to Ger project should continue as it is creating many benefits in many ways to our herders’ livelihood.

d. Should The Project Continue?: This project must continue in future for the following reasons: our household income is increasing, a superstructure is developing, and this project is contributing to both my mental and physical health.

a. Project Benefits: It has improved my household income and language knowledge.

b. Your Opinion about Ger to Ger: Ger to Ger project is very helpful to herders’ livelihood earnings.

c. Do We Need Short Wave Radios?: Short wave radio will give great benefits.

d. Should The Project Continue?: Ger to Ger project should continue in future in order to develop tourism industry in Dundgovi province.


Saihan Ovoo Village

a. Project Benefits: It helps me to learn English, now I know basic English. As well as it taught me good communication and service skills. Generally annual incomes of all families have increased.

Your Opinion about Ger to Ger: This project highly satisfies us as project facilitates the increase of income of both herder families and organizations that has a direct link to the project by actively involving us in the development of our local tourism which is very much suitable to the nomadic livelihood of Mongolia.

c. Do We Need Short Wave Radios?: Short wave radio is vitally important as it facilitates, immediate and in time, information sharing.

d. Should The Project Continue?: Ger to Ger should expand and include more families and villages in its linkages and needs to be continued for long time. Ger to Ger project does the following impact to Mongolia:
1. It advertises Mongolia to overseas countries
2. It facilitates increase of income of herders
3. Helps to improve the knowledge of English
4. It helps to develop good communication ethics
5. To utilize the existing assets fully and be punctual

c. Do We Need Short Wave Radios?: Short wave radios can enhance information sharing between herders; communications will be swift and on time by using short wave radio.

d. Should The Project Continue?: Ger to Ger project vitally needs to be continued for the following reasons:
1. It increases the income of the herders
2. Helps to learn English
3. Provides tourism education

a. Project Benefits: Ger to Ger project gave very good influences that contributed to my increased livelihood outcomes, I have a job now and more opportunities to learn foreign language etc, to my life.

Your Opinion about Ger to Ger: I learnt how to implement SME, communicate with domestic partnerships and travelers, and how to be responsible to my liabilities etc. In future, I will implement them. In addition, I have very nice team. In conclusion, I would like to say this project gave me willingness and power to live in future.

c. Do We Need Short Wave Radios?: If we have short wave radio, it will be easy to solve the problems in short time for travelers and locals. In addition, there is a possibility to exchange information.

d. Should The Project Continue?: If Project continues, in future it will give more benefits to my household and increase the family income; furthermore, project will impact on better protection of nature and surrounding environment and influence to my relatives and neighbours to protect nature and increase their livestock.

d. Should The Project Continue?: This project should continue in future because of it is real benefits to our livelihoods.

b. Your Opinion about Ger to Ger: By being involved in the project it is directly contributing to my household’s income, education and livelihood of our family, and I believe that in the future it will also do.

c. Do We Need Short Wave Radios?: If we have short wave radios, our work efficiency will be improved if communication between families gets better. That is why the introduction of short wave radio is important.

d. Should The Project Continue?: Ger to Ger mandatorily must continue, because it will bring even more outcome.

a. Project Benefits: I just became a member of Ger to Ger; therefore it is too early for me to talk about income.

b. Your Opinion about Ger to Ger: This is very important project that focuses to improve the livelihood of local herders. I was really satisfied with the workshop, it encouraged me and gave lots of energies to work and cooperate. I only think that I should work better next year.

c. Do We Need Short Wave Radios?: Short wave radio is an important tool of sharing information. That is why it is essential.

d. Should The Project Continue?: Of course the project needs to be continued. I wish Ger to Ger more expansion opportunities to cover many regions of Mongolia.

a. Project Benefits: I am very happy that I am the part of Ger to Ger’s family. It is inevitable that I will get more profits in the future being involved in this big tourism project, however, presently I have not felt dramatic inflow of income. I have participated twice at project trainings, and my knowledge of tourism and English have much improved. Further I am planning to expand my business, i.e. fix hot shower, and solve toilet problem.

b. Your Opinion about Ger to Ger: Education and livelihood of my family will get much better due to the implementation of the project and we will have a chance to be involved in the project’s linkages and partnerships.

c. Do We Need Short Wave Radios?: It is important that Ger to Ger project gets funding to introduce short wave radios, it will be a cost effective way of communication for herders to get information on tourists’ arrival and their safety.

d. Should The Project Continue?:Yes, project needs to be continued, because it is the core and the only connecting point with tourists and information provision.
