Its time to celebrate the festivities of Mongolia's Naadam of how it should be experienced, the rural way!!

Ger to Ger is excited to announce that Nomadic herder families and local communities are now offering rural Naadam event services for both travelers and tour operators. This is a unique opportunity to have an intimate and festive experience with locals that without all the red tape!! Take photos from where you wish, try on a wrestling costume and even wrestle or participate in the achery competitions with locals if you wish!

Rural Naadam Festival with Local Nomads
Book your own mini Naadam Festival
Our communities in Terelj National Park and Khugnu Tarni National Park and Selenge province are offering you an opportunity to book your own mini Naadam Festival. Our program includes the following:
• Morin huur, a two string horse head violin performance
• local Naadam organizer opens the ceremony of Mini Naadam
• First round of 16 wrestlers
• Long folk song
• Local organizer presents awards to the wrestling champions
• Horse Racing of 10 horses
• Horse show
• Race horse praises and awards
• Local Naadam organizer closes the festival

Community Fee
$250 USD for mini Naadam

Additional Travel Expenses for Terelj Park
UB to Terelj Bus Fee (approx.): $1.50 USD

Additional Travel Expenses for Khugnu Khan Park
Mini bus and pickup (4-6 persons.): $310 USD
Small and pickup (2-3 persons.): $185 USD

Rural Naadam at Villages

Naadam is Mongolia’s biggest national festival and its centerpiece is the “three mainly sports” of horse racing, wrestling and archery. Local Naadam festivals are hold in small villages and towns in countryside; besides the State Naadam held at the national stadium. During these events you will have a great opportunity to experience rural Naadam Festivals up and very close with nomadic families.

Rural Naadam Festival with Local Nomads
“Inviting Maidar” Religious Festival
Maidar god is savior of future time - therefore believers invite Maidar god once a year to entrust their fate in his arms. On the day of festival, they prepare & put a big special cart (decorated with religious symbols) to bring Maidar God in front of main door of Monastery. At a fixed time, many of the monks will start to invite the Maidar God by playing religious musical instruments, praying books and holding junipers. During this time, monks will begin to offer prayers in four directions of Monastery and after they are finished they will offer special treats. On this unique cultural program, you an rare opportunity to experience and participate in Inviting of Maidar God with locals.
