Day One – Overland bus to Middle Gobi to experience Gobi Desert nomadic lifestyle (L, D – Overnight in Ger): You will leave from Ulaanbaatar City by  coach bus at 0800 and will arrive in Mandalgovi around 1300 (actual time depends on the weather and the local bus). Upon arrival, our local driver will take you overland by jeep across the Middle Gobi Desert for 70 kilometers to the first nomadic family’s ger (Mr. Otgonmunkh) where you will have a late lunch at the host family. After food and a little rest, you can jump right into learning the basic of nomadic lifestyle by assisting the family with the herding sheep, goats and milking their animals. In the evening you will have your dinner with the host family followed by evening rest in the Ger.

Day Two – Horseback riding to the famed Baga Gazarin Chuluu (B, L, D – Overnight in Ger) : After breakfast, you will begin the 20 kilometer horseback riding trip across the desert towards the next nomadic family where you will visit the densely packed granite rock formations called Baga Gazarin Chuluu. Upon arrival at Mrs. Byambajav’s nomadic family, you will be welcomed with a hot nomadic lunch and traditional milk tea. In the evening you will have a dinner with family members and stay overnight in the Ger.

Day Three – Camel riding to next nomadic family and visit a desert oasis (B, L, D – Overnight in Ger): After breakfast, you will begin the 30 kilometer overland journey by camel riding or camel cart to Mr. Sanduijamt’s nomadic family. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with a hot nomadic lunch and traditional milk tea before bringing the 12 kilometer (round-trip) trekking trip to the Desert Oasis ‘Sum Khukh Burd’; habitat for migrating swans, ducks and partridges. In olden days, a monastery was built on the small island of Lake Burd – it was said that Prince Danzanravjaa put his famous play ‘Saran Khukhuu’ in this monastery. In the evening you will have a dinner with family members and stay overnight in the Ger.

Day Four – Departure: After breakfast, our local driver will arrive and you will begin your 75 kilometer overland back to Mandalgovi where you will catch the 1400 bus to Ulaanbaatar City.
